Frameworks

Original frameworks for key levers that drive behavior change

01

The Adaptation Loop

A cyclical model for building organizational adaptation capability — not as a project, but as a permanent operating mode.

Most change models are linear: assess, plan, implement, evaluate. The Adaptation Loop rejects that structure entirely. It's a continuous cycle of sensing, interpreting, deciding, and acting — designed for organizations that can't afford to stop between disruptions. Developed over eight years of field research across 23 organizations.

Applications

  • Strategic planning in volatile environments
  • Leadership team operating rhythms
  • Organizational design for continuous change
02

The Silence Tax

A framework for quantifying the organizational cost of suppressed employee voice — and a diagnostic for where it's happening.

The Silence Tax emerged from a five-year longitudinal study of voice behavior in high-stakes organizations. It provides a structured method for identifying where silence is occurring, why, and what it's costing — in decision quality, innovation, attrition, and risk. Used by HR leaders and executive teams to make the invisible visible.

Applications

  • Culture diagnostics and employee listening programs
  • Post-merger integration and trust rebuilding
  • Leadership development and 360 feedback design
03

The Uncertainty Tolerance Index

A validated psychometric tool for measuring individual and team capacity to function effectively under genuine uncertainty.

Developed in partnership with organizational psychologists at two research universities, the UTI measures how individuals and teams respond to ambiguity, incomplete information, and unpredictable outcomes. It predicts performance in volatile roles better than standard competency assessments — and identifies specific development interventions that actually move the needle.

Applications

  • Executive selection and succession planning
  • Team composition for high-uncertainty projects
  • Leadership development program design
